Word Duel FAQ
Last updated: 30/10/2026
Short answers to the most common questions about Word Duel.
Is Word Duel free?
Yes. Word Duel is a free browser game from Satime Games. There is no download, no account and no cash prize. The game is played for fun.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Today, Levels and Practice work without an account. Progress is stored in your browser and, when available, linked to an anonymous player id so your level stars can sync.
Is Today a different word every day?
Today gives you a random question with unlimited guesses. You can finish it and use New question to start another one. Your recent questions are remembered so the same clue is not immediately repeated.
Why can I type Vietnamese without accents?
Vietnamese answers are shown with accents, but the game accepts the unaccented form so a standard keyboard works. For example, TRĂNG can be entered as TRANG.
How many guesses do I get in Levels?
Levels 1–4 give 6 guesses, levels 5–6 give 5, and levels 7–10 give 4. Each level has a countdown timer.
Does Practice show the answers?
Practice is a study mode. It lists questions by level and lets you reveal the answer and explanation. It is not scored and is excluded from search indexing.
How does a friendly Duel work?
Open Duel and a private room is created automatically. Share the link or code with a friend. Both players get the same question, and the first player to solve it wins. After the result, either player can start a rematch with a new question.
Which languages are supported?
Word Duel currently has English and Vietnamese question banks. Other languages require their own reviewed questions and, for non-Latin scripts, a different input design.
